What do I do at Relevance AI? 

Hi, my name is Lloyd Wallis and I’m excited to have joined as Head of Sales at Relevance AI.

I am responsible for driving sales globally while building out our sales practices from scratch.

Key responsibilities I undertake include the recruitment of sales talent, analysing and implementing the right sales tools for our team, designing sales strategies, and the most important part – building strong customer relationships.

My career’s journey so far  

I have over 20 years of experience in a variety of sales roles across many different industries.

Originally, like many English ex-pats in Australia, I started my career in recruitment, then transitioned into consulting sales for a niche enterprise architecture firm. Over time, I made a move into advisory sales at Gartner.

In the past 5 years, I have focused on software sales to enterprise customers for both SAP CX and Tableau.

What I’m most excited about 

Having worked with some of Australia’s largest companies over the last 10 years, I have seen first-hand how important it is for business to derive insights out of their data.  

Being able to do this with unstructured data is a common challenge amongst businesses. I see a strong demand for an innovative, easy solution to this problem. 

With the Relevance AI data experimentation platform, customers are now able to access this untapped, treasure trove of data in a quick and simple way, with an easy workflow to collaborate & interpret results.  

What my average day at Relevance AI looks like

  • This is a difficult one to answer because every single day of my first 3 weeks has been completely different. 
  • As a team, we have been busy assessing and deciding on which sales tools we require to build a productive team. 
  • I have been actively recruiting for sales talent and am delighted to have our first BDR schedule to join shortly as the first of many new key hires.  
  • Once these things are in place, my day will be focusing on supporting and enabling the team along with as much customer engagement as possible. 

What I do when I’m not at work

Outside of work, my life is a combination looking after my 2 young children, as well as being very much into my fitness and sports. When the opportunity arises you will find me surfing, playing tennis or in the gym.
